What is this horror / psycho film called?
Ok, a few years ago I watched a film on the tv, but because it was so long ago i cannot remember the title, but luckily i can remember most of the story line.
The film starts of with a teen girl watching a film about a group of young adults traveling to a tree which contains a spirit of some kind, it is said that the spirit will grant wishes to those who free it. After the film the girl is watching has finished, we see her in school going to her first class, shortly after the day has just begun she starts to mention certain things which she wish would happen, suddenly her wishes are being granted one by one in the order in which she wished them. The girl realizes that the film that she had watched the night before was becoming true, as she researches the film and its origin she discovers that there are hidden messages within the film, she asks an old man in the projection room about it, after she has spoken with him he tells her that a teenage boy has been to see the film multiple times and she takes this knowledge into consideration of what has been happening. Shortly after she meets up with her friends to tell them what she now knows, some problems occur between the girl and her best friend and just before she leave the cafe without even noticing she says the words "I wish you would just shut up!". shortly after the incident the ‘best friend’ leaves the cafe she is dragged into an alley and has her tongue cut out. There is another wish scene where the girl say to a two-timing cheerleader, "I wish he could see you for what you really are!" (the he being the guy the cheerleader is going out with & the guy that the girl also likes), late at night when the cheerleader is making out with some random guy she goes into the schools pool area where she has her face ripped to shreds by the psycho, pushed into the pool and is left for dead (I don’t remember if the cheerleader actually died or if she was saved). finally the last wish that I can remember the girl saying (this is the big climax wish) is to her own little sister who she is looking after her while their parents are away is, "I wish you would leave me alone!", the psycho then comes crashing through either the door or the window (I can’t remember the specifics) and chases after the girl and her little sister. the girl realize the only way to save herself and her sister is by turning to the psycho and say, "I wish you were gone!", (with the psycho being in a mask with knives on his fingers, like Freddy Krueger) he starts to claw away at his own face, when enough of the mask has been ripped it falls off revealing a boy which the girl saw in her school during lunch break, the psycho then goes into an epileptic seizure, police arrive, (can’t remember if the girl phoned them or not) girls are safe, they all live happily ever after…
BUT, now this is the big coup de grace, the little sister find her sisters video tape the one which she was watching at the beginning of the film and just as the little girl puts the tape into the VCR, presses the play button and the opening credits start appearing, the angle of the room changes so that you are not seeing the back of the gils head but the side of her face with the front window just slightly above with the masked psycho in her front garden…(biggest cliff hanger I’ve ever watched)
Please help me by informing me of the movie’s title because it has been annoying me for a long time now.
ok, this film is not the ‘ring’ because the psycho is a living being who has gone completly insane.
I think it’s "the Ring", that was about a videotape. Strangely dated for some reason…
